Will lunch be provided?

The conference fee covers provision of refreshments during breaks (including tea, coffee, water and some snacks) and two lunches (on the Wednesday and Thursday).

When will I know if my proposal has been accepted?

Are electrical plugs different from other European countries?

220 volts/50Hz. Plugs are 2 pronged and rounded, bring an adapter for your phone, tablet, laptop, etc. Mainland Europe’s plugs are mostly the same except for the UK's which are 3 pronged and flat.

What’s the weather going to be like in September?

In August the average temperature is 24˚C/ 75˚F and in September, 21˚C/ 69˚F. The weather is generally dry and warm with 6 days of rainfall in August and 9 rainfall days in September.

What’s the currency in Italy and can I use my credit card?

The currency in Italy is the Euro (EUR). Most shops, restaurants and hotels should accept credit cards. Visa and MasterCard are the most widely accepted. Most banks have ATMs where you can access your debit or credit account.

What is the official language of the conference?

The official language of the conference is English. All abstracts must be submitted in English and all presentations must be delivered in English.

Is entry to the Conference Dinner included in the conference fee?

No. The conference fee does not include the Conference Dinner. More information about the Social Programme, including booking a seat at the Gala Dinner will be provided to registered delegates in due course. When the booking links are live, early booking is recommended.

Is the conference being held in the centre of Bologna?

Yes, the conference is being held in the centre of Bologna. The University of Bologna is our host this year and different elements of the programme will take place across four university buildings: Department of Education, Department of Economics, Aula Magna Santa Lucia and Complesso Belmeloro.

If I am presenting at the conference, do I have to pay the conference fee?

Yes, all attendees, whether presenting or not, are required to pay the conference fees. If you book before 9th June, you will benefit from Early Bird Booking rates and some people may be able to access student discounts or EECERA member discount. Do I need a visa to attend the conference?

Everyone entering Italy must have a valid passport, or in the case of European Union Member States, a national identity card. Visas are required for some countries. Delegates should check their requirement by visiting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation website (see the link below). http://vistoperitalia.esteri.it/home/en

How can I obtain an invitation letter to support my visa application?

Should you require a letter of invitation to support any visa application we will gladly provide this to anyone who has purchased their conference ticket or has submitted and have had their paper accepted for the conference. To obtain your letter of invitation please email eeceraconference2017@unibo.it with the following:

  • Full name
  • Address
  • Nationality
  • Passport number
  • Dates of travel to Italy
  • Title(s) of paper(s) submitted and/or conference booking number
